Located in the heart of Coniston Village, the surgery provides personalised community-focused primary care to a population of approximately 1000 patients.

We work closely with neighbouring practices in the Grange & Lakes PCN and MBPCC to provide additional services, including enhanced evening and weekend appointments, while maintaining the traditional patient-centred approach valued by our rural community.

Coniston Medical Services — Important Update
Following successful negotiations with local service provider Cumbria Health Limited, NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board can announce that a branch site of Central Lakes Medical Group, part of Cumbria Health, will open in Coniston from 1 July 2026.
New Branch Site Opening
A branch site of Central Lakes Medical Group, part of Cumbria Health, will open in Coniston from 1 July 2026.
Patient Transfer
All patients registered at Coniston Medical Practice on 30 June 2026 will be transferred to Central Lakes Medical Group from 1 July 2026.
Premises
The service will continue from the current Wraysdale House premises until a suitable alternative can be developed.
Service Availability
The branch site is anticipated to be open three days a week. Patients can access all Central Lakes Medical Group sites, including Hawkshead and Ambleside, when the branch is not available.
