Coniston Medical Practice Update

General Medical Services in Coniston to Continue from 1 July 2026

NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board has confirmed that general medical services will continue to be provided in Coniston following successful negotiations with local service provider Cumbria Health Limited.

‍oniston Medical Practice on 30 June 2026 will be transferred to Central Lakes Medical Group, who will take responsibility for their care from 1 July 2026.

Services will continue to be provided from the current Wraysdale House premises while plans for a suitable alternative premises are developed.

‍

Details on how the service will operate are still being finalised. However, it is anticipated that the Coniston branch site will be open three days a week. Patients will also be able to access other Central Lakes Medical Group sites, including those in Hawkshead and Ambleside, if they have an urgent need when the Coniston branch is not available.
