MBPCC recently attended the regional NHSE event focused on the NNHIP programme.
Representatives from UHMBT, Lancashire County Council, and MBPCC participated, contributing to a thoughtful discussion centred on a keynote address by Dr Minal Bakhai.
Dr Bakhai highlighted several important lessons from the programme so far, including the value of collaborative systems that address challenges collectively, the pivotal role that Health and Wellbeing Boards will play in shaping neighbourhood health, and the expectation of further national guidance in the near future.
She also emphasised that shared records are integral to supporting integrated working across teams.
During the remainder of the session, attendees had the opportunity to hear from others and reflect on progress in Morecambe Bay.
Locally, our learning highlighted the need for a strategic decision-making forum in Morecambe Bay with broad representation to help embed national insights. It is clear that a significant proportion of NNHIP activity is currently focused on established projects rather than new developments, reinforcing the importance of looking ahead to future initiatives.
